Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? (age, where you're from, hobbies besides designing, any fun facts about you that you want to share)
I'm swedish, 28, crazy hair and weird sense of style, and I've been doing pixel-dolls since I was 11. But back then I was doing more "true" pixel art dolls with only pixel brushes and no smooth brushes. It wasn't like a big hobby when I was a teen, I kind of forgot about it.
But then I joined GSM one night for a laugh. I thought it was just a stupid child site, but I found the designing program (or game) and that sparked my interest for real. And then it just kinda became one of my biggest hobbies.
Other than pixel art and pixel dolls I like art in general, my mom is also an artist. I went to a art school for a short period of time but was kind of bored with it. I love computer games and fantasy, sci-fi stuff! I've always been interested in nerdy stuff since I was a child.
I also LOVE pepsi max.... and bunnies!!
Why/How did you start designing for VP?
I migrated over from GSM while it was closing down. I started designing for vp as soon as I joined basically.I'll just probably always do pixel dolls whether or not it's on a site.
How long have you been designing for vp and when did you become a badged designer?
I don't really remember when I became a badged designer? XDI just remember that Kaj or Kim found out that I was a designer on GSM and was like "ok cool, do you wanna be badged ?" hahaha. It was a long time ago now.
How long do you approximately spend on designing one set?
Oooooh that's a hard question. It depends on so many things. And I usually work couple of hours a day on something for a long period of time. I'd say that I AT LEAST need 6 hours for a design to be made from scratch.
How long do you spend on designing on a weekly/monthly basis?
Also a hard question! I'm guessing maybe at least 1 hour a day, some days not at all and some days I put in like 5 hours straight. But I don't really know for certain. This is a very very early design but it's what comes to mind when someone asks "something special"
Since it's a design I've had in mind for a long time. I've always been obsessed with opposites. And how well black and white represents that. Me and my friend was gonna dress up like this but she wasn't opposite enough for me haha.
I have another friend now that fits perfectly and we're probably gonna do it instead.
They're succubus'es, which is another thing I've been "liking" for years. Since I first read about it when I was 13.
I like how much we see them in our culture but that not as many people actually know where it comes from and what like... sparked? the idea. It has to do with dreams and sleep paralysis.
Though the popular definition is more like "she devil" "luring men" ect. But it goes back to a lot of different cultures and beliefs.
But this design represents the dual nature of myself. Finding someone who mirrors it but completely opposite. And just... succubus'es are cool....
If I ever saw someone copying this design off-site I would be kinda pissed.
Where do you get your inspiration?
A lot of places. It can be anything from a stain on the bus to the color of the sky or just a feeling...Show us your first design and your latest design!
What program do you use for designing? And do you use a mouse or a drawing tablet?
I use PS Elements 6.0 and a mouse.
