This month’s user of the month has been nominated for her continued efforts to share knowledge, inspire and host various forms of forum activities. Her in-depth blogs stand out as informative and sharing important messages, while her events and interactive topics, such as forum parties, readalongs and most recently a bake off, brings people together and creates a fun, engaging environment. This, along with her general positivity and activity on the site, is why we think this user deserves the title.

Due to the rapidly decreasing interest in the fun page, we have decided to take a break. These are all of the submissions we had left in our storage, so please give their creators some well-deserved love! Going forward, we have an exciting replacement for the fun page that you can view later on in the magazine! The Fun Page might make a return in the future should there be any interest, but for now we have no plans of bringing it back anytime soon. Thank you to everyone who's ever sent us a submission and have helped us keeping this page running for as long as it has! Your submissions have been funny, beautiful, creative and interesting, and we've loved seeing them featured in the magazine.

One of the other reasons as to why we decided to take a break from the fun page, is because of our newest addition to the magazine - The Fashion Page. It's been highly requested, and some of the NT members have also wanted to do this for a while. 

Every month, we will now include a page in the magazine focusing on anything and everything VP fashion related. Outfits, combos, 3 looks - 1 item, look-alikes - anything! For August, our own fashionistas Atencia and Moss decided to share some of their favourite combinations. Above the combination you can find the total average, in case you're interested in bying them! And - if you want to add them to your wl - you can click the items to be taken to the full set overview. 

The Fashion Page is for everyone. This time the NT members shared their own fashion, but for September's magazine we'll invite everyone to send in fashion submissions. The Fashion Page theme for next month will be "Autumn Is Coming," and you can send submissions that fit this theme to the NewsTeam account for a chance to be included in the magazine!

VP was pretty calm when it comes to updates from the teams during August. However, it wasn’t completely calm because we in the NewsTeam announced our new members! We let two new layouters on the team, Melk and Archangel. We are really looking forward to being working with them and we hope you are looking forward to seeing their incredible layouts. Below is a little interview with the new layouters so you can get to know them a bit better.

ARCHANGEL
Tell us a bit about yourself (age, hobbies, pets etc)
- I live in Norway and I am twenty-one years old. For hobbies, I love to take photography and making music with my friends on FL studio. Also love to drive around with my friends and listen to music, especially if it is raining.

Why did you apply to NT?
- I saw an opportunity to challenge my creativity and applied. I find the HTML coding quite interesting too and hope I will be able to learn how to make all the fancy layouts soon enough.

What do you hope to bring to the team? Ideas? Articles? Etc...
- I hope to bring different ideas, but also being a good team member and being active and engaging in the conversations and planning

- I am excited to get to know everyone and see what happens! To be a part of this team, bringing the community nice articles and magazines every month!

MELK
Tell us a bit about yourself
Hello! My name is Marie, but most people just call me Melk. I’m 23 years old and I’m from Norway. When I’m not on VP I’m a teacher-student and a swimming instructor. I also have a few hobbies like sewing, thrifting and being a full-time plant mom. I also enjoy playing video games and cosplay.

Why did you apply to NT?
I’ve seen what other layouters from different teams have made and I’ve always been fascinated by it. I wanted to try it myself and found out that it’s actually something I can do as well. I’ve also heard many positive things about being in a team on VP and I have considered it for a while. I wanted to join NT because I like the concept of NT’s news article format and because I heard that the NT members are very nice and social people.

What do you hope to bring to the team? Ideas? Articles? Etc...
I consider myself a very creative person, both when it comes to making things, like layouts, and coming up with ideas for what to write about – or to be more precise, what I want to make a layout for. I would also say I bring “good vibes”, which I believe is important when working with a team.

Anything else you want to share with us?
I’ve had a very pleasant experience being a part of this team so far! I’ve already got to make my dream layout for “The History of Milk” and I can’t wait to make more. I have a lot to learn, especially when it comes to coding, but I look forward to learning more and work with this wonderful team!

There has been a lot of team competitions this month - a total of nine so far.

ET started the month by hosting a Carnival Extravaganza competition. Males and females were competing together for a cr prize of 200 for the winners and 100 for the runner-ups. There were a lot of colourful and impressive looks that are definitely worth checking out.

The Gods and Goddesses competition continued with this month being all about Aphrodite. Everyone had to dress up inspired by her story to win some beautiful prizes by Nama for females and Delcinne for males.

Another continuation this month was of ET’s Outer Space series. This month the theme was Roswell, and everyone had to create a look based on a sci-fi movie or tv-show. There were entries inspired by everything from Avatar to X-files to The Umbrella Academy, and you can check them out here. The prizes were some cute waiter/waitress outfits inspired by Roswell and made by Gravitation.

Finishing the Summertime events, ET hosted a themed BBQ party competition. For this comp, you had to create a BBQ party invitation with a theme, and then dress up for said theme. There were many creative entries, but the prizes were also gorgeous: some hot (pink) sets made by Mikkelrev.

Ending tonight is a collage competition. The concept of the competition is to create a collage of the things that you like and represents your interests. All types and styles are accepted, and you still have (a bit of) time to enter. The prizes for the comp are some cute cherry sets made by Freckle. Check the thread for more information.

The last comp this month is a punk-inspired photo comp. Snap a picture that represents chaos and write a short description explaining the chaotic element. The competition is running until the 3rd of September, so there is still plenty of time to participate and win some punk sets: the male is by Freckle and the female by Rabbitblue.

SMT started the month with a WWIB with a twist: you had to style part of the prize using a team member’s wardrobe. The prizes for both genders were the shorts you had to style as well as a hoodie, hat and socks all made by Sleepy. You can find the prizes and entries here, and the winners were announced on Instagram.

Twitter hosted the August raffle, and this month the prizes were some lovely outfits made by Freckle. There were 23 female winners and 7 male ones, and you can see the list - and the prizes they won - here.

If you like dressing up as celebrities, SMT had an event especially for you this month: a new dressup competition where you had to recreate the style or a specific look of a celebrity. The prizes fit the theme, as they were a Doja Cat inspired design made by Freckle. You can check out the entries here. The winners were announced on Tumblr.

In the last comp by SMT this month, you had to Meme Your Year so far. This has resulted in many great memes, and looking at the entries can definitely be reccomended. The winners should be announced relatively soon on Facebook. The prizes for this comp are also made by Freckle, who truly must have been busy with designing recently!
