Q: The past few weeks my mom seems to have turned against me, really, and we used to be so close. She's been yelling at me and saying I do everything wrong and deserve worse. I'm so upset and I don't know what to do.
A: I think your mom may just be going through some hard times, y'know? Since it's been a few weeks, it seems rough. My mom does this, too. I think all moms do at some point. When she is calm, maybe before bed, go up to her and tell her how you feel. If you're afraid of her yelling at you or doing something, then don't only say it, but give her something - make a snack she loves and explain. I think she's been having some bad days.
Q: I am moving soon and I think it's going to be so hard. I'm going to a new school and I'm going to miss my friends so much. I am so worried, I don't know what it will be like in a different town. I'm really nervous.
A: I've never personally moved, but I know it can be scary. Try to keep in contact with your friends - text or Skype every day; that's probably what you hear from a lot of people, though. Going to a new school shouldn't be too difficult, I've moved schools once (but that was normal, elementary to middle school) and I had to go with big kids and honestly, I was embarrassed, but, as everyone will say, be yourself. That's the best thing you can do. You won't know the trends or the cool kids, but you do know who you actually are, and giving the new school and the new people a bit of you will only make your time better.
Q: I am back and forth with my friends. I have two groups - let's say group A and group B. I will say that I have a better time in group A, but I miss my friend in group B. I've known both friends since kindergarten, B for a few weeks before kindergarten, and I like them a lot, but it seems like there is some kind of fight for me. Lately I've spent more time in group A, but I know B is upset. They both don't like each other, too. I don't know what to do.
A: Gosh, being torn between friends isn't so good. This has happened to me a lot before. You could try doing something like spending one day, or week, with A and another day/week with B. Sometimes that won't work. If you haven't done it already, tell them about it when they are BOTH in front of you. It's hard to be friends with both, but if it gets to the point where there's NOTHING to do about it, tell them how you feel & move to a different group out of them and make new friends because you shouldn't have to be torn.
If you would like to send in questions, you will need to send them to ThePaparazziCrew account as all members will do Q&A columns at one point. If you need an urgent answer, don't send them early in the month because questions will be answered at the end of the month as articles are at the end of the month. Please title the messages "Q&A". DO NOT send them to Twizzler because she will not be doing the Q&A article next month. By sending us a question, you automatically agree to us putting it in an article unless stated otherwise. We will not put your username next to the question unless you ask us to do so.
Note: we understand that advice columns may be deep, so we will have a 'trigger warning/discretion advised' section for questions that may bother some users.
