Back to School Week: Advice! (by Hardlykaty )

Back to School for a lot of people can be pretty stressful. Whether you’re starting a new school or you’ve been in the same school your whole life, a new school year means new friends and a chance to start over with a clean slate.

There are a few things you should keep in mind if you’re aiming to be successful this coming year.  You should aim to attend class, do your homework, stay organized, try and make some new friends, and most importantly, have fun!

If you want good grades to be apart of your future, the most important thing is to be in class. If you’re not in class, you won’t get to learn the lesson in person and will most likely have to get notes from a classmate, which isn’t as effective. You also won’t get the worksheets, handouts, and homework and you’ll be put behind in class. When you are back in class, the most important thing is to get any notes you missed and if you don’t understand it, ask your teacher/instructor. The materials will more than likely appear on a test and having absolutely no clue isn’t a fun feeling. Homework should be a given. Not only is it a grade, but it also helps you review the material that will be on a test in the near future. It will boost your grade as well as give your mind a refresher. Lastly, being organized will help your success.  Having folders for each class will help you keep your papers in order, but in my opinion, keeping a planner is the best way to make sure you get all your assignments done. If you write down everything, there would be no way that you could forget to do something!

Have fun! These years are some of the best that you’ll ever have. Spending all of them worried and stressed won’t do anything but make them unenjoyable. Go to all the dances, football games, concerts, and shows that you can because you’ll never get that exact chance again.  Join all the clubs and teams that you want and don’t take yourself too seriously. Make new friends and spend time with them outside of school because one day you’ll all be going your separate ways.  Look at back to school as a great opportunity to get a fresh start and have a great time!

Fleurbliss says: "Maybe not all of us changed our school but there sure will be new people in our class. Instead of backing out of them or making fun of them, we should be nice and talk to them. Make them feel wanted and special. We shouldn't bully and we should always try to keep our grades the highest possible so that we can have a bright future!"

CRFJ says: "Tips- Don't fall behind on homework on your first day. Relax, worrying about it is only a waste of your time."

harleybarbie98 says: "My advice for back to school, especially if you're going to a new school this year, is to be yourself."
Happle asked: "What do you recommend we do if we get bullied?"

A: I would recommend telling a trusted teacher or staff before it gets any worse, but if you are new to the school and don't really know your teachers, you could go to your councilor. -Cosmos.
A2: It's best to show the bullies that you're not effected by them and tell someone as soon as it starts. -LoveIsALaserquest.

Aris asked: "How can I avoid missing lessons?"

A: I would recommend going straight to class after you are dismissed to avoid being late. If you are worried about needing to use the restroom during class then don't be, it's not such a big deal. If it's an emergency, then most teachers will let you go, but if it's an emergency during passing periods, it's best that you go then.
-Cosmos.

Establish a daily routines and try to maintain a diary where you can store up your homework dates or assignment date. Every night before going to sleep have a look in your diary, this helps to keep you update and help you stay away from teacher's scolding at the school next day if you miss anything. This habit will help you to ease School stress.

I just shared it.<3
