Some of you may or may not have heard of Andre Rieu but if you haven't then this article will give you a little bit of insight of who he is and what he does. I also hope you enjoy this article, I felt like writing it after finding out I will be seeing him in December. Let me know in the comments any other people you like who are similar.
Rieu was born in the Netherlands in 1949. He has followed in his fathers footsteps to become a conductor of an orchestra. He is famous for his conducting as well as being famous for playing the violin. He has studied at the Conservatoire in Liege as well attending the music academy in Brussels. He has been recognized in different countries such as the knight of the order of the Netherlands Lion as well as being recognized by other countries.
Rieu is most famous for conducting and playing the violin in the Johann Strauss orchestra who are known for their waltz music. I have yet to experience what it is like to see Andre and the Johann Strauss orchestra play but from what I have seen on tv it is going to be a wonderful night. They mix music with humor and they nearly always have a guest singer. When you see them performing everyone is enjoying the performance, regardless of age. They include songs from films and even well known folk songs in their performances. To make it an even more enjoyable experience they all wear spectacular costumes. Each person has numerous costumes for each show and some of the dresses can take up to six weeks to make! Andre himself likes to have at least five different costumes for himself. What's so magical about this orchestra is the amount of talent each person holds and their love for music that shines through. Andre is the most successful violinist and he has traveled all over the world sharing his amazing talent and love for music.
