The past few years, there has been a lot more acceptance of the LGBT community. While some countries still do not accept it and give them rights, and some people just don't believe it is right because of religion, there is a big movement about it, and we are helping people understand and accept every day.
A few months ago in the United States, same-sex marriage was legalized in every state. This is a big step for the movement. The US has states that are banning therapists that try to convince you that you are not a different gender or not a different sexuality.
Even though governments are taking steps in helping the movement, people still do not accept it because their religion goes against it. There are protests against same-sex marriage. People do not realize that it's not going to affect their lives at all, and they think that what other people do in their lives even though it is not harmful is something under their control, which is a very sad thing to think.
If you do or do not agree with LGBTQ+ rights, I hope you still accept any friends or family members that are a part of the community. It is very hard to be queer/trans in a world where people do not accept you. You don't have to agree with something, but we are people too, so please remember to be kind.
