9. Azerbaijan 2011 
I have to this day yet to comprehend how this cliché of a song could ever win. It has never been close to even slightly appeal to me, it is cheesy in an unacceptable way and it does not help the case that the singers barely can sing. It sends me the same vibes of the infamous UK entry in 2003. 


8. Ukraine 2016 
Despite it being performed by an incredibly skilled artist, as well as being quite the original entry, the song receives a no from me. I hate to be the guy to bring in politics at random places, but I have got to agree with Russia regarding this song. For me, it is not comprehensible how EBU allowed it to enter as it in my opinion quite obviously breaks the rule regarding politics. Having a song about the deportation of a people from Crimea lead by the Russians in 1944, in the midst of an ongoing conflict with Russia regarding Crimea seems incredibly political to me. 


7. Sweden 2015
Not a bad song, not a bad performance, not a bad artist, for me - not a winner.  For me it resembles a David Guetta song way too obviously. Furthermore, the disappointment of not seeing the absolute best Eurovision entry of all time (personal opinion!!) win because this standard pop song was favoured by the juries is beyond unacceptable. It is a disgrace that Italy did not win this year and for me that is completely impossible to see past, regardless of the quality of the song. 


6. Denmark 2013
The amount of times I have listened to this song has probably resulted in me not being particularly crazy after it. I do recall loving it back in 2013, and for a long time it was my winner of the year and I genuinely liked it. Now, however, several other songs from the year have aged better, and there's several songs I'd rather see as the "winner" of 2013. Therefore, 6th is the highest it can possibly be ranked for me. 


5. Germany 2010
Standard pop song of the early 2010s, too cheap for a victory. Never been particularly fond of the song, and I would still not consider myself a fan of it. I never understood the hype surrounding it. For me, the best entries of the year got lost in the semi finals, making pretty much any possible winner of the grand final unworthy. The song isn't awful, but is isn't fantastic or out of the world. 


4. Sweden 2012
Overrated. It is a good song, great performance, and all that. Nevertheless, it is not suitable for the competition. 


3. The Netherlands 2019
Following my boycott's end in June, I explored the songs which had appeared in this year's edition. I was wholly incapable of understanding how this plain song was able to win. Not a particularly exciting song. However, after listening to it a few times it has started to make more sense. It still isn't in my top 5, but I've come to accept it as a winning song. It is easily among the top 3 winners of the decade. 


2. Portugal 2017
Being able to rank a Portuguese entry, a winning song even, pleases me beyond words. Prior to this win, Portugal had been the country which had participated the most times without winning. As I am far beyond averagely interested in this competition, this win based on the history of Portugal in the competition, is very emotional to me. Despite not being my favourite of the year, it is a decent song and without a doubt a worthy winner. It is pleasant. 


1. Austria 2014 
Unlike the other winners, this song is classified as my winner song of its respective year. I have not doubted the song's position for a second, not before - during - or after. From the moment I heard the song, and throughout every moment up until now, this song has appealed to me in ways I cannot describe. Thus, it is easily the best winning song of the decade. According me, that is.
